"You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses." - Tom Wilson
WelcomeI am a counsellor in private practice in Victoria, BC, providing short-term and in-depth counselling and therapy, either in your home, or at my office. I work with people who seek relief as they find themselves gripped by depression, weighted by grief, seized by rage, unmoored by loss, paralyzed by anxiety, tensed by stress or thrown by change. My approach is collaborative and based on the belief that people already possess the tools needed to change. Through the work we do together, you have the opportunity to become more aware of your feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
By tapping into your own resources you have the power to improve your relationships, break free of defeating patterns, resolve specific problems, increase self-confidence, and find balance.
"You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses." - Tom Wilson, from comic strip "Ziggy"
I will provide counselling in your home or other facility in the Greater Victoria Area.
We can schedule regular office sessions.
Counselling sessions can be scheduled to take place online in real time, offering you convenience and privacy.
Writing becomes part of the therapy process in these sessions where you set the pace.
Counselling by telephone is an alternative source of help when in-person sessions are not possible or convenient for you.
Group therapy provides the opportunity to work through issues in an interpersonal context and to try out new ways of behaving in a supportive, confidential atmosphere. I will design sessions to meet group needs.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a method of psychotherapy used to treat trauma or an upsetting experience you have not recovered from. It can also assist with the healing of any physical health concern.
